A Guardian or Guardian family is a person or household that agrees to keep and look after a breeder's dog. Guardians do not own the dog in their care until said dog has produced a certain number of litters and is retired from the breeding program.

Guardian homes are utilized by Cajun Girl kennels in hopes to give our breeding dogs the very best life possible by keeping them in loving home environment's.

While the dog is in our breeding program, Cajun Girl Kennels pay's for all breeding related expenses while the Guardian is responsible for all of the typical pet expenses and maintenance. Including grooming by a professional groomer every 4-6 weeks, dog food, training by professional dog trainers, regular annual vet visits for vaccinations, parasite/heartworm prevention and sickness/injury appointments.

To qualify for our guardian program you must :
To qualify for our guardian program you must :
live within 2 hours of Denton MD and be flexible for dropping off/picking up the dog for health testing, vet visits, breeding, and whelping.
keep dog safe and contained at all times (fenced in yard), No Dog parks.
Be prepared for a home visit and provide references prior to the dog being placed in your care.
Provide training and Title Dog in AKC/UKC Sports/Conformation (3 minimum) or Service, therapy, facility certification(s)
No plans of moving within the next 5 years.
Understand that we are waving the purchase price in exchange for your service, you must be willing to communicate, cooperate, and coordinate with us during the dog's time in our program, and be dedicated to providing a safe, loving home for the lifetime of the dog.
